![]() ![]() While the writing style remains quintessentially Rachel Griffin, and kept me fully engaged, this book felt somewhat dimmer in comparison to her first. ![]() As the second book by this author, I had high expectations going in, which is something I wish to avoid in the future. The author knows how to write a witchy novel that hits all the right notes – gothic atmosphere, character development, thrilling adventure, and an abundance of magic. Will Iris be able to retrieve the curse in time? But everything changes when the curse is taken by a bird, which could have catastrophic consequences. However, when she creates a curse to transform her witch-hating colleague into a witch, she intends it to be just another cathartic experience. Iris has a secret – she concocts curses but refrains from using them. Wild is the Witch is a gripping tale of Iris, a witch who has been living as an outcast in Washington, away from the Witches council, but constantly under their watchful eye. ![]() ![]() Wild Is the Witch is one such enchanting and thrilling book. They make my blood pump and my heart thump with excitement. Books that require the main character to overcome difficulties and emerge victorious are particularly enjoyable for me. I love being presented with challenging problems and obstacles and being immersed in the protagonist’s mission. Atmospheric novels are my ultimate favorite because I enjoy being transported into a new world when I pick up a book. ![]()
